Smartphone Battery Technology has come a long way since the beginning of Mobile Cellular Phones and battery technology just hasn’t been able to keep up with the growing smartphone industry. Most cellphone batteries should last in the ballpark of 1 1/2 to 2 years before its’ necessary to replace. When a battery becomes bad and can’t take a charge anymore it is necessary to replace. If a battery goes unattended once it goes bad then it could cause more problems like a cracked screen or explosion.

Luckily apple software will give you a battery health reading and let you know when your battery needs to be replaced.

  • Open your Settings menu
  • Scroll down to “Battery” (it will say “SERVICE” when it’s ready to be replaced)
  • Tap Battery Health and if the battery percentage is close to 80% or less it is time to replace your battery

If you don’t replace your battery when prompted then the battery will start to swell which can cause your screen to crack from the pressure of the battery from inside the phone. Your battery can also explode and become a fire hazard and a health hazard from the lithium gases.
